Statistics Teachers’ Day takes place at Auckland University, where stats education researchers, PhD students, and practising statisticians share what they are discovering in data. Robyn Headifen (Kaiar膩hi, Networks of Expertise, Auckland Mathematical Association) ran a hands on workshops for teachers new to the teaching statistics or looking for a refresher. With the explosion of data, interpreting statistics has emerged as an important skill to have. Robyn engaged participants in activities that develop statistical thinking in Years 7 鈥10 and beginning the journey of looking at how we collect and describe what data can shows and tell us.
