Kiri Dillon & Dave Phillipps (Lincoln High School) have spent the last 4 years teaching Statistics in a Flexible learning environment that is shared by multiple Mathematics and Statistics classes. The collaboration between students, staff, and classes are now having a big impact on statistics learning and thinking. Kiri and Dave looked at how their environment is being used to develop statistical thinkers and independence at Lincoln High students.

Kiri Dillon (Lincoln High School) discussed how traditionally level 2 courses are focused on a mix of Mathematics and Statistics Standards.
For the last 2 years, Lincoln High School has run a completely separate course aimed at capturing and developing statistical thinkers before Year 13. This workshop looks at the programme Lincoln High School developed, some of the teaching activities and resources that have worked and looks at the advantages and disadvantages of this type of programme.
