“Do caffeinated drinks disrupt your sleep?” How much support is there for “assisted dying” for terminally ill people?
Dru’s workshop shared some new activities covering the three key aspects of this standard: the difference between observational studies and experiments, non-sampling errors and the three rules of thumb for margin of error.

Students gather data about the amount of money adults spend on coffee per week at a coffee shop (Columbus, Starbucks etc.), type of coffees purchased and share their results on Google sheets. The data can then be explored using iNZight in a group classroom activity, looking at appropriate displays and analysis for categorical and numerical variables.
